Prize performances ...

... Nobel nights.

I'm not a big Pinter fan. I saw The Caretaker and The Homecoming during my college years. I didn't dislike them exactly, but didn't think they were all that great, either. I do think he did a spectacular job adapting The French Lieutenant's Woman for the screen. I also didn't know he had a Rattigan-mode. I do like Rattigan a lot.

    I can't stand Pinter and I have no idea why he got a Nobel prize for literature (he seemed to get it for being p.c., with his anti-Iraq War poetic ramblings). There are so many far better English playwrights. Tom Stoppard, anyone? Alan Bennett?
