One brief comment: What we know - "the world" as we call it - is our encounter with being. The notion of "nature" separate and distinct from humans observing and interacting with it is, so far as we are concerned, strictly a notion. We can perhaps imagine a world without man but obviously we can never experience such a world. The earth that Bryan feels will not continue to sustain ius s also the world that seems to have produced us. As Brit says, the beauty of nature is a human invention. Of course, there are still some among us who think we are not sustained by nature, but that we and nature both are sustained by God.
